Truth be told #6. “A Qualified Heart “?
When I was about 25 years old, I can remember receiving a powerful prophecy that stated I would be wealthy and do “BIG” things for God, and How my twin brother and I would be “Double trouble”; a force to reckon with unto the Kingdom of darkness.
As I heard the “wealthy part” I internally smiled from ear to ear and immediately accepted ?”I’M GONE BE RICH!”?… now about this doing “big” things for God?.. he must have been a little mistaken on that part because there is no way God can use a womanizing thief”, I said to myself.
Well after the prophecy, my life literally went to HELL and back a few times, which seemed to have pushed me further away from God than I had ever been in my entire life. Boy if I thought God couldn’t use me before, I was a slice of cake compared to what I had become. TBT, I didn’t even know who I was. My life had become nothing more than the proverbial Christian, full of failures and debauchery at its highest forms.
I got divorced, lost good jobs, cars, my home, rental properties, and had to file bankruptcy. Aside from my life, I’d lost everything a man could physically lose. I was left broke, busted, disgusted and could never be trusted by anyone let alone God.
Now looking back on everything I went thru, I can sum it all up in one word: PREPARATION.
TBT PRINCIPLE: The time between being called and sent by God is called preparation.
God had to literally remove bitterness, rage, anger, blasphemy, perversion, lust, false love, stealing, manipulation and most importantly covetousness “The love of money” out of my heart before my destiny could be released.
You see man will qualify or disqualify you based on your looks or past/present faults, but thanks be to God he qualifies us based on our hearts:
1 Samuel 16:7 NLT
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Proverbs 17:3 NLT
Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart.
Well, today I stand before you restored, and everything I lost has been replaced 1,000-fold and (YES) the entire prophecy has come to pass. Best of all, I know who I am thru Christ Jesus. I’m no longer living as a slave to a sin-seared life but I’ve accepted my new birthright as a King of Kings.
