Truthbetold #5 – “Be careful what you set your heart upon – for it will surely be yours.” -James Baldwin
When I first read this quote I immediately knew it was nothing more than God’s word:
Proverbs 23:7 KJV
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”.
Great author Napoleon Hill says it something like this: Your dominating thoughts attract their physical counterpart. Be careful what your thoughts dwell upon.
Here’s the TBT: God created us as such that whatever we think about the most will be drawn to us whether good or bad. You’ve heard the preacher say this Bible verse before: “you reap what you sow” but who would have known we could reap our good and bad thoughts?
This principle by Pastor Robb Thompson says it all: “Your thoughts are seeds that when allowed to enter the soil (your heart), become fruit in your life.”
This explains why the enemy is always bombarding us with fearful thoughts of not making it, cheating spouses, not having enough money, “they gon’ lay me off”, etc. If you accept these thoughts as truth, they will eventually manifest in one way or another. After these things become reality in our lives, we say things like “I knew it!”, not realizing you have just brought the very thing you feared the most upon yourself and all Satan had to do was drop the seed of a negative thought that you accepted as truth.
Here’s the TBT solution:
The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
that we should “cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God” and “bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”
Proverbs 4:23 NLT says: “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life”. We must realize how powerful this law really is if it tells us “above all else”. This means it is the most important because the outcome of your life depends on it. We must guard our hearts and renounce all thoughts that do not line up with us having blessed finances, marriages, health, kids, jobs – you fill in the blanks.
Question is your heart sincere or sin-seared? #Truthbetold
