TBT Questions?
1. How can a natural man be your spiritual covering or spiritual father etc?
2. Does a man have to send you to do God’s work?
3. Does a man need to be a mediator between you and God?
I do believe God can connect 2 people to fulfill a Friendship, Mother, Father, Brother or Sister roll “Naturally” in the lives of each other. HOWEVER: The Bible says:
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
1 Timothy 2:5The Bible also says it is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
1 Corinthians 12:11
Finally Act 13:4 says so Barnabas and Saul were sent out by the Holy Spirit. If you read verses 1-4 you find that God used man to activate the gift but it was the holy spirit who actually appointed and sent them out. Why would God appoint you, give you his power (gifts) and then require a man to send you out or be your “spiritual covering/father” before you could be successful in a ministry or life? I guess a better question would be why are pastor cursing members who leave their churches because they are no longer under their ministry?
I’ve literally personally experienced and heard from other people’s experiences on how their previous pastors cursed them by saying they would lose their homes, business, car, careers and would become nothing because they didn’t leave the way they wanted them to leave or when they wanted them to leave. I’ve also seen pastors try to control people leaving their church by using these fear tactics.
You mean to tell me you lived an all to be damned life before coming to Christ and God didn’t take your life away from you but now that you’re following the call of God, he’s going to take everything away from you because you don’t have a natural man who calls himself your “spiritual father/covering” or your pastor didn’t say you could go yet?
Here’s the truth be told… Religion has bewitched many of God’s people. God is the only Spiritual Father as the Bible says: And don’t address anyone here on earth as ‘Father,’ for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father Matthew 23:9. It also says: “Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim” Proverbs 26:2.
No one can place God’s curse on you because you broke a “man-made rule” I’ve heard of the same pastor that said “they didn’t leave the right way” even go so far as to say they are “Demonic” “Fatherless” and proclaim failure and doom on their ex-members new church and anyone who follows them because they are not submitted under their “spiritual fatherhood”.
A few more questions for thought:
Where in the Bible does it tell you how you are to leave a church?
Where does it tell you a man must send you?
Does a member have to give a 2-week notice before leaving your church?
Who was Jesus’s spiritual cover?
Who was any of the Apostles and Prophets Spiritual covering?
A natural man cannot be a spiritual covering. By God’s revelation and connection, you can have spiritual guidance thru a man but no man can be your spiritual covering. God uses Apostle and Prophets to activate or impart the gifts given by the holy spirit. God is the only Spiritual covering you have and will ever need.
There’s nothing wrong with submitting under another man’s ministry. In fact, most times God requires this before he gives you your own ministry but please stop acting like a spiritual covering or spiritual Father is a requirement by God when it was made up by man. This is called Spiritual Legalism (See my previous TBT#20 for more info on Spiritual Legalism)
Most of the time this originates from a smaller ministry trying to get connected with a larger or well-known ministry in order to become successful.
Maybe you are bound by man’s words or have certain fear(s) of what will happen to you if you disappoint someone. Maybe you are supposed to be moving in a particular direction that you know God is calling you to and you are paralyzed or afraid of being judged or have already been judged or cursed, God wants you to be free. TBT Prayer: Father I will no longer walk in ignorance and darkness, but in the knowledge and light of your true will for my life. I renounce every negative word that I allowed to enter my heart and affect my life. Father your word says an undeserved curse will not fall on me if I don’t deserve it so I reverse every spoken curse that I accepted over my life. May all of the spoken words fall away from me as dirt into the streets and blow away as dust before the wind. I pray for those who walk in religious ignorance for they know not what they say and do. I am free from every man spoken curse in Jesus’s mighty name. Amen
