TBT#20 (Truth Be Told) Spiritual Legalism: The act of creating a man-made rule to contain or control you into following a God-given command…. Apostle D

Jesus replied, “And why do you, by your traditions, violate the direct commandments of God?
Matthew 15:3 NLT

It’s amazing to me how man will take a one time experience or a God-given commandment such as “a man that lust after a woman has already committed adultery in his heart” (Matt 5:28) and because he can’t control his own lust, creates a man-made rule for the entire congregation that says woman must wear skirts or dresses to their ankles, wear no makeup, or show any skin.
Yes, I believe women should leave something to the imagination but why are people being labeled rebellious because they choose the opposite of the rule you created because you can’t control your flesh? The truth is if a woman had every part of her body covered with clothes, and only 1 eye showing, men would still fantasize and lust for her.

I’ve known some pastors and church leaders to attempt to control members FB friends, FB likes, nail polish color, hairstyles and even the fit of their clothes. It’s your job to lead people to the life given water (Christ), not follow the traditions of men and force them to drink from Him. If God gives us the freedom to choose Him or not, what right does a man have to try and take that freedom away or create their own man-made paths to the Most High God?

You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires.
Colossians 2:20‭-‬23 NLT‬

Apostle D…. Shunned by man, but chosen by God. Just a voice crying in the World-er-ness.
