Truth be told #12- (PART II) Having full liberty to express your emotional, sensual or sexual desires and yet choosing to deny temporary pleasure for God’s way (especially while in or under a difficult or pressured situation) is the true definition of Freedom in its highest form. Apostle D….
In Part one we ended with the question: How does one become successful at what they do?
Before I answer, I’d like to conclude the wheat sowing story from part I. The truth is if it ever seemed as if another man’s crops have grown faster than yours, it’s because after planting the seeds, you went and wasted your time and energy (water) on useless temporary desires while the other person came back day after day to make sure his seed was watered. God saw his faithfulness and increased his crop 100 fold.
Now back to how does one become successful?
The TBT Answer is clearly found in James 1:21-25 NKJV
He who looks into the perfect law of liberty (Freedom) and “CONTINUES” in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, THIS ONE WILL BE BLESSED IN WHAT HE DOES.
For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
Each and everyone of us has had or still has deep dark secrets and sin that our flesh loves. These are known spiritually as strongholds (read 2 cor 10:3-4 & eph 6:12 in your private time). I can clearly remember God showing me 3 personal strongholds in which I would have the liberty to choose whichever I wanted, but would have to defeat before God would/could release to me any form of permanent success.
TBT Scripture: Deuteronomy 30:19 NKJV: I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore “CHOOSE” life.
The truth is I stopped, went back, stopped again and went back but finally after realizing the choices I was making was stopping my true purpose, is when I literally looked in the mirror and admitted to God who I truly was and without his help I could not stop. When I asked God for help, and he saw that I was truly sincere (This time), he showed up and helped me choose to say No to what my flesh wanted.
Now that I am free from those strongholds that I thought made me happy, I realize that still having the choice (Liberty) to do them and freely choosing not to, is the greatest freedom anyone can ever experience.
Question, have you’ve looked in the honesty mirror lately? God already knows you can’t stop on your own. He’s just waiting for you to realize it and make the choice. Your Heavenly Father wants you to choose life so bad that he sacrificed his only son.
TBT words of wisdom: To stay away from something that you cannot say NO to in order to stop yourself from doing it, is a temporary success at best. We have only truly defeated our Demons within when we are able to look at them face to face and still choose to say NO.. when every sin-seared emotion within our flesh is saying Yes!
Apostle D – Just a voice crying in the world-er-ness.
